It started with a science fair project. Seriously.
Mike built a radio station as a science fair project.
Apparently that should have been a warning of things to come.
Then radio became a career.
As radio personality Shotgun Mark Rivers, Mike traveled
up and down the dial for more than two decades, landing behind microphones
in Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cincinnati, St. Louis, Racine/Milwaukee, Reno,
Frederick, Maryland, several stations throughout Wisconsin, and his hometown
of Wichita, Kansas.
Along the way, the career grew beyond local radio. Mike hosted
two nationally syndicated radio shows, worked as a broadcaster,
producer and creator, and spent more than 20 years doing what started with
that science fair radio station years earlier.
And somehow, he's still not a household name. :-)
Then came the online world.
Mike got online before the first Internet bubble —
back when simply explaining to someone what the Internet was
could be part of the conversation — and never really looked back.
Radio led to websites.
Websites led to digital marketing.
Digital marketing led to affiliate marketing, domains,
online businesses, podcasts, streaming media,
digital products and eventually mobile apps.
And music never really went away either.
Today, all those different chapters have collided
in one place: Mike Lamb Media.
There isn't one neat category for what we do
because there was never supposed to be one.
We create things.
We build things.
We experiment.
Sometimes an idea works.
Sometimes it turns into something completely different.
And sometimes a little idea gets way bigger than expected.
Most often, though, there's a common thread:
Can we create something that helps another person build a business,
solve a problem or create additional income?
If the answer is yes,
there's a pretty good chance Mike is going to want to build it.
Still creating.
Still building.
Still not a household name. :-)
